Blogs I Read

So Jo's cousins Ann and James adopted our little Gibson. We are sad to see him go as he is so awesome, but it is for the best. Mama Bean took him over on Wednesday and he had a blast playing with their dog, and hanging with the family. So it is sad, but I'm really happy for him.

AND!!! I even got a little section for me on someone else's blog. Granted it's b/c she couldn't comment on mine... but still. :) It made me feel special.

While mentioning other blogs I enjoy, here are the ones I check out on a daily basis:

Barista Brat - the rants and raves of a barista at Starbucks (no, not my wife, though I get to hear all of her rants and raves at home)

Clublife - a bouncer in NY, he recently released a book. used to be alot better than it is now, but still occasionally entertaining

My friend Tamara's blog, rarely updated.

Tamara's husband Tyrel's blog. He's a conservative, redneck, tin-foil-hat-wearing, gun-loving kinda guy. (nothing wrong with the gun loving ;) )

My wife's...well it was. She hasn't updated in almost a year :(

A blog from some dude that is a nurse in an ER. Usually pretty interesting

Stories and Experiences of a Red Lobster Employee. Quite enjoyable, updates in spurts

So You Own A Swimming Pool One of my favorite blogs! Written by SkippyMom. She's an excellent writer, and always has some interesting story.

The Insane Waiter. Another waiter blog that I read. I seem to enjoy waiter blogs.

My friend Kari's blog. Hasn't been updated in awhile but...I keep hoping

times and places. Written by One Smarmy Mama. Been following it for quite awhile. Quite enjoy it.

Waiter Rant. One of the originals, and by far the best. Former priest wannabe, and now a waiter in New York. Amazing writer with a book coming out in the next couple of months.

This was the entry I started earlier today...then I found out about Reagan.

Shock

I had a good post going. Quite a happy one even. Then I got a phone call. My old swim coach, Reagan Williams died in a plane crash at lunch. He was flying to Winnipeg, he was the pilot. His dad died in a plane crash at the end of October.

I don't know what to say. I'm sitting at work trying unsuccessfully not to cry.

Gibson has to go :(

So we have to give up our puppy. Our cute little guy who is the absolute cutest. He's just so adorable...how can something so cute cause so much havoc with my body. Allergies. I play with him for about 10 minutes and my eyes are watering, my nose is running, and I'm all congested. I sneeze, and my lungs get full of mucus. It really sucks, because we've really grown to love him in the past week.

He's quickly becoming housetrained, though he still pees during the night on the paper. I'm not sure he can hold it all night yet. But he doesn't poop in the house anymore, which is awesome. He has learned to hold it all night. He goes to the door when he wants to go out and we are in the same room. He is so smart.

So I am sad. We brought him to the parents of the couple that lead our care group last night. They are looking for another dog. They already have a 5 year old male bichon something or another. They didn't really play together, much to Gibson's chagrin. I'm sure he would warm up to Gibson, it would just take a little bit. I'm not sure if the home is the right fit for Gibson, as he really has a lot of energy, and it's a sort of sedintary home. I mean he's always have constant companionship with someone always home, and another dog, but he's just so active. He's a puppy. So we're not sure. We're going to take him to Jo's cousin tomorrow and see how he does with their puppy/family. They are a little younger with more energy.

So we'll see. But I am sad.

Gibson!

We got a new puppy last night! He's so cute, and fun. His name is Gibson, and he's a 3 month old Yorkie/Maltese cross.

One of Jo's co-workers is moving and she can't take him with her, so she needed to find a good home for him. Oh oh! Pick me! Pick me! And so now you will find him in our kitchen, romping around enjoying the freedom. They used to keep him in his crate when they are away at work all day, as wel as all night. We're going to take a different approach and block off the kitchen entrance so that he can play in there.

He doesn't shed, and is hypo-allergenic, which is awesome. The entire time growing up, we always had dogs around, and I never had any problems. In the last few years though I've started to notice an allergy developing. Whenever I go to my parents house, who have 2 dogs (bichon/shit-zu and a bichon cross), after about half an hour my eyes start to water, I get all congested, and things go downhill. So I'm hoping I don't have that problem with this little guy.

I haven't been sleeping well lately, so I've felt myself getting sick, so I'm hoping this congestion and sneezing is a result of that, and not little Gibson.

But yeah, so we got a cute little puppy and I love him to bits. He isn't house trained, is kinda paper trained, so the next couple of weeks will prove to be patience testing, but it will be good.

Yay!
